The Administrative Boards
The Office of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct (OAISC) houses both the Administrative Board of Harvard College and the Honor Council of Harvard College. OAISC is also responsible for managing concerns pertaining to undergraduates at the College.
The Administrative Board is responsible for reviewing all unsatisfactory undergraduate records and disciplinary cases involving social misconduct for possible action. The Board also votes on all student petitions for makeup examinations as well as exceptions to the academic rules described in the Harvard College Student Handbook. The Administrative Board is composed of two committees: (1) the Disciplinary Committee, chaired by the Dean of Harvard College, or their designee; and (2) the Petitions Committee, chaired by the Secretary of the Administrative Board, or their designee. . The Assistant Dean in OAISC handles the duties of Secretary of the Administrative Board and coordinates the work of the Administrative Board committees. A full list of Board members is provided to students going through the disciplinary process. The Honor Council handles matters dealing with academic integrity and violations of the College’s Honor Code. Chaired by the Dean of Harvard College, the Council is composed of faculty, students, and staff. The Administrative Board of the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences reviews and rules on all matters of discipline and unsatisfactory student performance as well as exceptions to the rules contained in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Handbook.
